The Dating Examiner has helped to
plan a few weddings in her day, and with those experiences … she’ll be having a
destination wedding. I digress … Weddings can be one of the most expensive
milestones in a person’s life. Basically, it’s one of the most expensive
parties that you’ll ever throw and wedding costs are continuing to soar.
While June has traditionally been the most popular month
for nuptials, more and more couples are opting for less traditional months, but
despite a breakaway from the conventional, according to The Wedding Report
average wedding costs reached an all-time high in 2012 at $28,427. So, the
folks over at My Glass Slipper set out to figure the facts and figures behind
weddings and shared their findings by designing an informative infographic.
This infographic divides the
information by US averages in geographical regions to see where the big wedding
spenders are. The infographic gives priceless information to those planning a
wedding and helps brides figure out how and where they can get the most bang
for their buck.
Revealed in the infographic is a large variation between
the size and range of American weddings. For example, in the Northeastern part
of the country brides tend to spend more and have a smaller guest list. While,
in the Southern region of the US, brides spend less and have much larger
wedding. Also of note, the south hosts an average of 813,328 weddings per year
– more than any other region – and can boast one of the largest and least
expensive wedding venues anywhere in the country.
Why is the information in this
infographic so help for brides-to-be? A wonderful example is that if the
bride’s family is from Connecticut and the groom’s family is from Georgia, the
couple is more likely to get a lot of bang for their buck by choosing to hold
the wedding down South. If you’re in the midst of planning your special day,
check out the two-part infographic and hopefully it will help to make your day
everything that you want to be.
